Like, I agree with BLM that cops/society are way more ok with unnecessary police violence on people who aren't white. That doesn't mean I think BLM is a great movement. It's more decentralized nonsense that has some good people and some absolute nutcases because anyone can make their own BLM chapter. Some of the cases BLM pushes are very weak and frankly there's enough Freddie Grays and Eric Garner and Oscar Grants.
Does privilege matter? Yeah. But not having privilege doesn't make you a fucking saint. And guess what? A lot of average black people will agree with you, I volunteer and when people talk about this shit the first words I hear are generally "the cops will beat on you for anything whether you deserve it or not." They know that some of these fuckers are assholes. But the point is if they were white, they'd make it.
And, for the record, Ollie's view about the JL in-universe was exactly how Cadmus saw them and why Batman wanted him in. Yeah, he's not a powerhouse, but he provides a counterbalance to the more highly powered dudes who throw their power around. GA (and Batman, Huntress, Question) are all normal people. A bullet can take them down. They're going to feel awkward around the heavy hitters, be able to provide perspective in an organization that has dudes going off-planet to fight in interstellar conflicts. Look at the episode with General Eiling going General Ross.
And the JL needs people that can go on the street and deal with shit- Superman knows how to stop gangsters with alien tech weapons robbing a bank for example, but he doesn't get their organizations, how to track evidence, how to set an ambush. He doesn't have their problems and thus know how they operate. Batman-esque people do. Mandragora escaped and GA ended up following Question to where he'd be, but he probably could have done the investigation himself.
