>>99398868some differences are that comic book characters tend to have rules about their powers, and weaknesses
an autistic case is Exiles Mimic:
-he can copy the powers of 5 different people
-but he can only do it at half their strength (if he learns the eyebeams of Cyclops, they are only half as strong, if he learns the speed of quicksilver, he can only run half as fast, if he copies the organic steel of colossus, he can only lift half as much as Colossus)
-Some of the powers he learns may block other/s of his powers, as in, switching into the organic steel form of Colossus may make him too heavy to fly
-if he wants to learn a new power, he has to forget one of the 5 powers he copied
-in order to copy a power, he has to spend an hour close to the person whose powers he wants to copy
-Once he invited Northstar to a bar just to copy his powers (Northstar thought Mimic was gay like him an that it was a date)
before the mid 80s that was the normal thing in Marvel/DC Superhero comics
A more modern example is Emma Frost. She can choose between being a telepath who is as vulnerable as a normal woman, or an invulnerable diamond woman with no telepathy (but also immune to telepathy). She can't have both at the same time.
I prefer characters with those kind of ridiculous silver age limits
Shounen characters dont have those limits in general
Also, Marvel/DC characters have good match ups and bad match ups. The clearest example we saw not that long ago was Dazzler absorbing all the "scream" of Black Bolt.
In capshit perhaps there is a c-d list character who has a power that neutralizes you completely. It is kind of like Pokemon in a way.
Capeshit when well done, has more rules. You should be able to choose a team of D-Listers perfectly handpicked to beat a certain roster of the Avengers or X-Men.
