But even then, that job demonstrates the differences between men and women. A man who wants to teacher will go into being a college professor, which I believe is about 60% - 70%. But a woman who wants to teach gravitates towards the lower paying one which is as high as 75% - 80%.
This is the same thing with nursing: Lots of women nurses who get paid less than male nurses because the men strive for higher paying jobs while women end up staying at the lower end of the spectrum of the career.
The reason the whole wage gap thing persists and has no end in sight is because the problem of equal pay was solved a long time ago, but the problem of women lacking ambition and confidence due to a multitude of factors has not.
