Season 2 is really good. There's an animation budget increase and much more variety in the stories. Plus we get more of Bunnicula's origins.
Also there's more "adult" I guess you could call it references in the show.

The characterizations are vastly different. Bunnicula is an actual vampire and Harold acts as the proverbial Patrick Star of the series. Although these changes were approved by James Howe himself given that he's an adviser on the show

Yes and yes, but when looking at the bigger picture the characters are very different from their book counterparts. The cartoon is its own thing for better or worse.

This episode and the latest beach episode were brought down by their awful toilet humor, I was a bit surprised to know they were both written by Atoms, the show had been very restrained with its toilet humor up until this point.
Worst part is that It's too late for writeranon to save us, since season 3 dialogue has already been recorded.

I think every episode this season has been written by Maxwell Atoms, at least according to Wikipedia.
My favorites so far are the Locket episodes, the Godzilla one, and the Cerberus one. The Scott ones were pretty decent too.

Season one is ok. It introduces the characters and some basic plot elements but is otherwise unremarkable. Season two is good, with more variety in the stories and more fleshed out humor(aside from occasional fart jokes). I'd give it a 7/10

I liked Billy and Mandy and The Looney Tunes Show and Hannah Barbera like every kid and employed person with free hours to spend, but some things remain clear throughout the ages.
Their quality doesn't change with the ages, neither does John K's cartoons.

Seeing 104 episodes or 18 hours of content from the same exact content producers bores me to death. I don't care how many ideas and directions they tackle, if it's executed the same way then it's boring. That's why I appreciate producers, directors and writing staff to change every incarnation(Spiderman, Scooby Doo, Batman, etc.) and I'd appreciate it even more if they changed every season if the team behind it just aren't good at providing nothing more but cookie cutter material.

What do they use to animate this anyway? It seems like Flash judging by the stiff animation, but they use so much goddamn shading and lightning.
Must be the same animation team behind The Looney Tunes Show. When they're paid right they can animate beauty itself.

I give S1 a 2/10 with a 4/10 and S2 a 1/10 with a 7/10 overall.

S2 has more content, but it's yet again nothing but repetitive poor man's slapstick with no real plot structure whatsoever.

I've got a few cassettes(Men At Work's Business as Usual, AC/DC's High Voltage,and a metal compilation album with Metallica, Venom, Raven, and Slayer on it), but I never really got into it as much as vinyl.

I understand giving your main attraction a power boost, but why the hell is it written like an underwhelming comedy sitcom parody slice of life?

I mean when your best episode is about an entirely different premise about 2 one-shot human pirates in a different place in a different timeline, you realize the initial premise of your show is boring if not awful.
