>>98840869I think that gross out humor may have had a more lasting impact in Chile. 90s cartoons were played constantly into the early 2000s which means that lots of 90s born people got to watch shows like Ren and Stimpy, Cow and Chicken and others alongside modern western cartoons.
I've got to mention the dark times though, which started with the reggaeton invasion, when TV channels switched to even more afternoon teen shows (like Mekano, Yingo), and reality shows interrupting afternoon shows (like The Simpsons) like it was breaking news. They stopped buying mid-2000s cartoons for the morning blocks and restricted even more the slots dedicated to anime in the afternoons. At least we got some comfy Chilean productions like Diego y Glot during that period.
