She very well intended it to have a transgender parallel, but backpedaled hard when the episode received huge backslash.

Of course, people were pissed, so one of the writers defended Goldman by claiming it was a ""joke"" made by the writers who often self-insert themselves as cameos, and Shapiro was just one of many. Except here's the thing: we never see cameos of the rest of the crew, and that a cameo is meant to be an extremely short appearance.
Which also brings to the point that in every fucking episode that features Jared, it's written by Jake fucking Goldman, which loses their defense that it was all one big ""joke"" without the realization of Jake himself.
The writers themselves are awful liars, and can't write for shit. Literally reusing plots from the classic PPG, and just make stupid decisions in general.
Also fun fact, Haley Mancini, the main writer of this abortion was interviewed and she confessed she lied being a writer to get her job. Good to know you can now lie your way to achieve your dream.
