So I'm watching this and they got Leonardo using phrases like "Dude" and "Bro." And he's even using nicknames like "Raph." It was pretty well established with the 2003 series by Peter Laird, and I imagine the comics, that Leonardo doesn't fucking talk that way. He's way more formal with his speech. Laid went out of his way to make sure the turtles had their own unique personalities and quirks and weren't interchangeable like with the original cartoon series. He looked over EVERY FUCKING SCRIPT. He was the one making sure nobody was out of character.
Now, I haven't watched the Nick show but it has me wondering, is the writing there as sloppy as hat's on display here? Or does it deserve the fanbase that it does? Peter didn't work on that show. Should I give it a shot? I'm having doubts.
