But I don't understand how you can skip almost an entire season, and still judge it as if you watched it. Yes, the outline of the season is somewhat predictable - only somewhat - but that is true in the second season as well! (Assuming you guess the basic identity of the main villain, but it's similar with Elyon in S1.)
Personally, rewatching the first season in particular has given me a new appreciation for all the great moments in it, especially given how much everyone else seems to hate it. Seeing how Will/Matt is slowly built up almost in the background, for example... it's something almost no other cartoon ever does. And then there's the excellent foreshadowing with (cool) stuff like the Seal of Phobos, and in general the really simple slice-of-life stuff is written so well compared to many shows that only do that
I also feel that the second season does some rather weird and questionable things with the characterization. There are several episodes where one girl's character seems forced - N for Cornelia, O for Irma, and Q for Will in particular. Season 1 never does anything like that, so not everything is better in season 2. There's some more minor stuff like that too.
(And I'm still very apprehensive about "U is for Undivided" in general, though less than before)
