>>98336971The engineer priests of Termite are even called "The Mechanicum", and the reason that they can't fix these things from the lost age of technology is that they've lost the instruction scrolls. Add that to the power weapons, chainswords, chain axes, Inquisition, the interstellar transport system built around a dead Emperor's tomb, the undead overlord using poorly-understood technology to drain the life essence of his most loyal subjects in order to live again, the Bisley Joe Pineapples MK.2 body, and so on, and so forth. One of the best bits of doing the entire saga on /tg/ was pointing out how often all this stuff turned up, and how many years before its direct counterpart in 40k.
>>98336922That would be Glimmer Rats. That came out in December 1999, so a year after the 3rd edition of 40k debuted. It's also written by Gordon Rennie, who did possibly the greatest 40k book ever, "Deff Skwadron", some years later.
Were the thread not so short of images I'd probably do it now.
>>98337385I have, they showed Here's Jonny on Channel 4 back in the day. From what I remember its immensely sad. 100 Months, his last book is also very, very hard to find a hard copy at reasonable prices. It's... definitely not for everyone and its very, very raw.
