>>98310692I honestly don't know why so many people prefer the Raimi trilogy. I loved it at the time because it was the first legit live action Spidey and I'm a huge Evil Dead fan (and Brisco County Jr fan/Bruce Campbell fan, but that is neither here nor there). But I was never a big Tobey fan or a Kirsten Dunst fan...I thought a lot of the acting was a little cringey, honestly.
Homecoming is what it is, and in that I thought the execution was faithful to the intent. I grew up reading Marvel Tales, so I grew up reading the original run, I grew up reading Roger Stern's run, and I grew up reading Peter David and Michelinie's run (McFarlane!) And of course I've had to deal with Slott of late. So having that as my Spidey background, Homecoming felt more like young Pete than the Raimi films. Honestly.
