So in your opinion who should be The Flash? Wally? Barry? Wally and Barry both being just as important? Or maybe another Flash like Bart or possibly someone completely new taking up the mantle?

Why is it "there can be only one Flash"? I mean Jay can still be around and no one cares, and China has their own Flash now. Moreover, I think both Barry and Wally can coexist, the problem lies in their characters currently. Barry is perhaps the most bland character on the League despite stealing a good portion of Wally's material, and Wally is in a weird state of limbo who is completely alien to the current timeline. I miss Wally's Dark Flash costume too

But in all honesty if I had to pick one I'd pick Barry. Silver Age Flash is still best Flash. It's a shame we can't have fun multiverse/time travel Flash stories with occasionally Rogues and "it was me Barry" sprinkled in for fun.

Hell with Multiverse/time travel ones you can add in Wally, Jay, and Bart from time to time too. Plus Iris being from the 25th century.

What's the point of having good legacy characters when you keep bringing the old ones back for the "not muh" crowd?

Same goes for Green Lantern and even Batman to a certain extent. Sure you can claim they deserve to exist alongside eachother, but as long as you keep dragging back the old writer's favorite over and over, the 'replacements' will be forever doomed to be second fiddles and background characters.

There was tons of this in Wally's run, too. At least in Waid's.

Dark Flash and Chain Lightning were both alternate universe adventures. One in Kingdom Come and they even directly showed Wally travelling multiple different dimensions.

Waid was trying to set up Hypertime with Morrison at the time so he bucked the no multiverse thing.

It looked nice for its time but it has not aged well. Ever major criticism you can make about silver age writing is abundant in The Flash. It is what it is, a kiddie comic. That you like inanity is on you, not me.

Barry and Wally and Black Wally (simply because they cannot and will not get rid of black Wally). With some appearances of Jay and Bart for time travel stories.

Let there be a Flash team book. Sort of how Hal Jordan & GLC works, where you get Hal as the protagonist, but Kyle, John and Guy get their arcs and development, where each of them has a personality and traits.
