It's completely possible to have dropped the show due to a drop in quality while still coming back every so often to watch clips and view stills in order to guage it's current quality and judge if one should bother catching up with the show.

The point is that he no longer watches every single episode and is no longer invested in the characters, their personal stories, and the overarching storyline at large, something Steven Universe goes through great lengths to attempt to convey to the viewer.

it's not that they don't have model sheets (the show does), it's just that the korean studios are explicitly told to follow the boards closely (Star vs eps look much more consistent but the storyboards posted by that show's crew are just as variable, even though one of the korean studios on Star also works on SU)

It felt like it was trying WAY too hard to go over the top and the context of everyone else taking is as serious as a heart attack including Stevonnie was off putting. I put myself into spoiler and teaser bubbles when these things come out. I don't see teasers or spoilers or any of the leaked images anymore than what gets shown here and even then I avoid the SU threads as the fandom gets more and more difficult for me to tolerate.

With that said, I didn't think Lars was supposed to be cool or badass. I saw the episode and it felt like the acting was stilted.
And mind you, I normally like schlock a great deal.

Take this picture for example. This is from the same episode as OP's pic, but it's completely different. In comparison it has, excellent shading, beautiful sky, a grand sense of scope.

Meanwhile, Stevonnie in the dream is small, rounded, and bright. She's drawn as such because she's in a dream and everything is slightly skewed to be warm and vibrant. Plus, the scenes in the space battle were bad ass.

Alright, show me the episode where the entirety of Beach City is throwing a parade for Connie. Just because there isn't a character who hates her doesn't mean she's widely loved. The gems are just polite to Connie b/c she's Steven's friend.

I don't like Connie either as I find her boring and unnecessary, but some of things you listed don't make her a Mary Sue. Is Steven and the CGs Sues because they can use magic? A character being able to do cool things doesn't make them a Sue, it's their lack of flaws.

How the characters look is entirely based on the storyboards, not the budget you retard. Steven isn't shorter in some episodes because those eps are cheaper, it's the boarder being too lazy to get the proportions right and stay consistent with their board partner. There's literally an animation note from Sugar herself explaining this.

And that isn't a good composition.

Yellow Diamond, Blue Diamond and now Pink Diamond all had versions shown which were simply Steven's imagination, which were informed by the murals that Steven saw. Thus Yellow Diamond's helmet looked right but the proportions were off, Blue Diamond was in a dress but the face was way off, and Pink Diamond had the hair but her actual gem's shape was not correct to Steven's imagination.

I do remember Peridot was the easiest gem to do, and ones like Rose and Bismuth with their weird hair were the hardest.
And the manga ones were generally harder since they're usually bigger and have more detail to work around.

Nah. But he was already faster than upgrade Raiden, who then went on to kill Armstrong. It had more to do with strength as he was able to catch Armstrong off guard a few times (if i remember correctly) but wasn't able to cut through him fully as he wasn't strong enough to get through his nano machines. Raiden was only able to beat Armstrong because of Sam's sword and his strength behind it.

Armstrong had the superior tech and it gave him the superior strength.

Again, many, many great video games are not shy about the big massively stronger enemies being beaten by better speed. Just metal gear revengence comes to mind since every time I see that image, that looks just like armstrong in that image.

That it was the technology and strength behind it that helped him win. The sword literally launches the blade out like a bullet, and vibrates to cut through things easier. Combined with Raiden's strength, made it all the more easier to kill Armstrong. The final blows were just Raiden cutting through nanomachines. Also the "weren't fast enough part" was from Sam's fight, not Raiden's.

Andy is a likeable character because he talks with logic the most part of the time. You see one character visibly smaller than the other and you immediately think the artist is proposing that, "There's no way that a smaller character like that should be able to beat the much bigger guy!"

When in fact, you know nothing about the two characters. There could a logical explanation behind it. Not just that, but, that is not automatically a _bad thing_ to have the smaller character beat the bigger one. There's so many video games where the boss is monstrously larger than the protagonist. Great games.

But somehow, we're supposed to believe that every time this happens, this is unforgivably stupid. Even when in the context of the game and story, it makes perfect sense.

Lapis was straight up called a terraformer by Yellow Diamond in What's The Use of Feeling Blue and the head writers of the show, and her flashback clearly shows her in the Beta Kindergarten. Her water powers are for moving and carving earth, rock, water etc. when colonizing planets, just look at the old collage that other guy posted >>98036742 for all the evidence behind her creating the Beta Kindergarten. She then swings her mace downwards, in a similar motion, therefore with at least the same amount of force. And Connie like an idiot takes it on the blade, not to mention standing. If you watch closely it seems that's its the swing that's forcing her down on her knee.

In short, it's not that far-fetched to believe that Topaz isn't fighting Connie at full strength, and that gems in general can control their strength. If you want proof about controlling strength, even Steven does it, we've seen him lift boulders and heavy equipment before, and yet he's still able to hug someone without killing them. Are you really going to try and say that's just coincidence? If Steven can control his strength, a gem that's been alive for who knows how many hundreds of years would be able to as well.

I swear, theories and discussions are well and good, but there comes a point where you have to stop and examine everything instead of just the specific scenes.

The only way to fairly judge is to watch it on TV as it airs, or from the official app, in its entirety, else you run the risk of people skewing it.

Finally, you don't see anyone complaining this hard about the animation about other shows, even if it's just as bad or worse. It's literally just the "cool and hip" thing to rag on this show this hard, without also complaining about all the other shows that do the same thing.

Not ending it in a single blow because she didn't want to kill any of them and didn't know how much punishment the human body can take. The benefit is delivering the humans to the Diamonds in as good of condition as possible to prevent angering them and being shattered. Even the mention of being shattered was enough to get Topaz back in line when Topaz literally had Aquamarine pinned, after all.

It's all about pleasing The Diamonds as much as possible. Aquamarine might not fear them as much, but Topaz certainly does.

We have no idea where he stopped for sure, it does matter. It's the difference between 21 and 61 episodes. It almost triples the amount not watched. Again, intentional vagueness hurts, in both episodes not watched and general opinion of what was watched.

I know the episode numbers, I have them all numbered in order and sorted by season. The source where I got the episodes has them sorted and numbered. There doesn't have to be a minute marker, an episode marker is enough, and it's not that hard to go back and look at. Not to mention most media players I've seen actually have a total time AND how far you are in to an episode, or do you somehow have one that lacks both of those?

So how can I have an IQ if I'm brainless? Do you even think everything out before you type it? Seems like you need to consider your own IQ before you go making claims about someone else's. You've also put words in that I never typed, proving that folks can edit quotes.

If it's not cherry-picking, it would be more than just the two images, it would be one image from each instance of Stevonnie showing up.

People edit SU clips, the audio specifically, to make memes all the time, not that far of a stretch to think someone out there might edit them for the worst. I'm sure someone has done it before, not just for SU but for other shows. Altering quotes isn't that hard.
