>>97935140>Honestly Lisa's very well written up until the point the show conspires to prove her right and refuses to let her have any intellectual equal who disagrees with her. I haven't watched Simpsons in a while, but in all the episodes leading up to season 10, Lisa's crusades never actually ended with everyone agreeing with her.
When she tried to disprove the existence of the angel, the show made the argument that even if she was technically right, faith and the meaning of the angel was just as important.
When she discovered the truth about Jebediah Springfield, she backed down from telling everyone the truth.
When she became a vegetarian, Apu basically slapped her shit down because a total Vegan and then taught her a lesson about not being so judgmental.
When she won the Little Miss Springfield contest and used her position as a platform for agenda, she was quickly disqualified.
When she took a test to see what her future career would be, she got "House Wife" and a Jazz specialist told her that as she grew up, her fingers would develop in a way where she would never be able to play the sax like one of the greats.
When she has the chance to marry a wealthy sophisticated intelligent British guy, it was ruined because he looked down on her family and wanted her to have nothing to do with them after they got married.
When Mr. Burns lost his powerplant and she convinced him to become an environmentalist, he ended up stripping the ocean of life and selling his operation to buy back the powerplant.
And when she tried to be progressive and join the football team/decry football, she found out they already had several girl players and used synthetic footballs and donated all their money to charity.
So on and so forth.
Lisa, even when she's "right" never actually wins. If reality doesn't bitch slap her, then she has to learn a lesson about being less judgemental.
I don't know if it changed in later seasons.
