Shit, if he'd incorporated the laugh-a-lypics it would flesh out the world more. Lots of Hannah Barbara cartoons have really fucking weird worlds they inhabit. There's a lot to make an interesting story that couldn't be told with any other properties. This? This is literally just slapping an unrelated name onto a typical story in the vein of Milk or whatever and hoping for it to gain traction that way, it's everything wrong with reinventions that people are right to criticize. If there is no real 'character' you're carrying over, with the lisp speaking goobly mouthed little monster, if his setup and at least somewhat different cast aren't really worth carrying in, if nothing else has anything to do with snagglepuss, then why the fuck are you making a comic book about a pink furry Tennessee Williams?
Everything Flintstones did right with reinvention, this does wrong.
