Eh. I felt like they resolved the Cartman/Heidi plot a little too quickly, while the Garrison plot was dragged out too much with too much repetition in the humor. Plus Kyle's whole story from last episode should have had much, much more of an impact on him and the other characters, Ike aside.

It was a good season, but this episode was kind of meh.

Didn't feel like a season finale at all.

The past four seasons have had individually good elements and episodes, but at this point Matt and Trey need to figure out that they can't wrap up a long story arc, and at the absolute least can't pace two parters for shit.

It's amazingly frustrating to be left with one of the best cliffhangers in the past couple of seasons and then get a gigantic nothing burger of a finale.

Yeah, this ending felt a bit off, and I think I know why.

Basically, Matt and Trey don't know what the fuck is going on, just like last season.
But this time they have something of a plan: presenting a possible future and then waiting a year to see if it comes to pass.

That's the point of the whole "it's up to the whites" bit. They're saying "If Trump's gone by next year, we'll be done with this, but if he's still around, we'll do more shit with him"
They left it all very open and really only gave Heidi an open door to getting better, but not even confirming that.
Heidi's been a clear standin for America as a whole this season, so her saying she's tired of playing the victim to just blame others is more or less what they want for the US: to accept the toxic shit without blaming or deflecting and get better.

Whether it'll happen or not is a total crapshoot though, so this time they're giving it a year to see the results.
Same line of thought with the PC Principal and Strong Woman plotline. They have it all set up and are reacting to it with the current "post weinstein" mentality, but they want to see where things are in a year to decide how to go forward.

TL;DR: this isn't really a finale, more like a loose cliffhanger that we gotta wait a year to see what happens.

The way they want story-arc seasons, they need more episodes per season. They tried to fit a new social/political joke in on top of the ongoing one with President Garrison, plus it felt like an underwhelming aftermath of KYLE GETTING GARRISON TO NUKE CANADA. Then, they also piled on side plots with the kids and PC Principal x Strong Woman. To top it all off, it felt like a weak climax with Cartman threatening suicide and the scene cutting to the ending we got.

They need more than 10 episodes a season if they're going to tie up as many loose ends as they did. Maybe they could deliver a satisfying ending. The Whites joke was alright and I got the point from them alone on false-equivalence victimhood without everyone else needing to drive the point home. Would have been more satisfied with Cartman changing at least a little, having made Heidi into his likeness and suffered the usual fallout.

There's currently a lot of tension and unrest politically in America and things are pretty volitile all around.
Since they don't know where it's going for sure, they basically said "well, here's how we want it to go, but we're leaving things open" and ended the season on that.

They're giving it a year to see if things calm down or whatever on the various issues they focused on this season.

This episode was disappointing this had a lot of potential to end a fairly polarizing season with a bang. There were so many problems.

This had a lot of good things going with it like they could have done so many things!

In all seriousness, I'm quite sad that South Park has been so dull lately. I'll even defend the rectent-ish seasons, but the last 3 years have been almost completely skippable. I'm guessing they focused all their efforts on those 2 games? I haven't played them.

It's honestly surprising that South Park isn't thriving right now, considering the recent hits of IT and Stranger Things. Those are both childish, nostalgic, rural America gone weird, which is basically what South Park was in the first place, but more vulgar.

It was the exact same shit as last year.

They didn't know what the fuck to do, they threw a bunch of shit at the wall, albeit funny shit, but as far as a plot or continuity, it fell flat on it's fucking face. Everything just ended, like the troll stuff.

The thing that really annoys is me, that I can't get past, is them saying they wanted to get away from Trump before the season. Look, I get it, he's all over the media, he's hard to ignore, the threat of him doing something catastrophic (that is, war, not some annoying tweet,) is hard for some people to deal with. But for fuck's sake, there's a reason they said that and this is that very reason. The jokes are old. They're tired. They're not even really jokes anymore. A guy named White, representing The Whites, defending the president? That's more on the nose than your nostrils.

Maybe it's one big meta joke, since Randy said something about that earlier in the season: if it's not on the nose, people get all whiny and ask what that was supposed to be. But I think what really happened is that they fucked up. They had no ideas for shows, they had no ideas for goofiness, they HAD to go back to Trump. And they clutched the one little nugget of continuity they had, the Heidi thing, and rode that wave too. And what did we get? Heidi makes a basic speech about how being the victim gives you an excuse to be awful (which is true and poignant,) but it's quickly ignored as the President escapes like some kind of movie monster.

Weak ass shit. I'm sorry, it wasn't clever, it wasn't biting, it wasn't some grandiose political point. The President sucks everybody, if you didn't know, now you know, for the trillionth time.

Don't get me wrong, the '80s music was funny. The PC/Woman stuff was funny. Even the vomiting was kinda funny. That's what they should have stuck to, I just worry they don't know how to do that anymore if they don't have some running plot they don't know how to finish.

Before alt-left, the term was "south park conservative". They had a lot to do with making the political right seem edgy and cool and counterculture, and a lot of the kids that grew up with it are now 20-something alt right trump supporters due to that influence.

Frankly, that might be the biggest issue with this season: there was a LOT of beating a dead horse. Jokes that last entire episodes. Jokes so on the nose, you think someone's just going to break the fourth wall and address what they're talking about without the act.

They basically threw their hands up and said "We don't know where things are going, but we hope their leaning this way" and now they get a year to see where things go before deciding to finish the plotlines with the next season.

Except South Park seems to have this effect on young people. Unlike a lot of shows, it has a lot of truth, plenty of people resonate with it and a lot of the humor and commentary are expelled with a cynical and apathetic tone. This has led to a more nihilistic attitude in young people when in the realm of politics, I know because I have witnessed it plenty a time.

You yourself making a reference to the show in place of an argument is a perfect example.

Social media and the internet have evolved to allow for people to spout their opinions at a way faster pace. Crowds have been swayed to the point actual facts can easily be dismissed. A time where the waters in politics, the media, culture, everything have been shaking like crazy.

That's why Terrance & Philip are now old men. They are a representation of the fact even Matt & Terry, who used to be at the cutting edge of being able to parody and satire current events, are unable to do it anymore in this new era of everything going fast and everyone being much more sensitive to everything.

Make sense they left things open because, at this point, whenever they try to close a statement, the winds change in a whim into another direction, to the point nobody can predict anything at this point.

The third of the senate that is running for reelection in 2018 is mostly democrats, some of them in red states. I enjoyed it for the most part up until the final scene. Knowing they usually have weak endings I came in with low expectations despite all the hype and I think that's what let me enjoy the episode for the most part up until they decided beating the dead horse wasn't good enough and went onto rape it for good measure. The whites were funny when it was a metaphor for white America instead of directly calling everyone out at the end like, "You fucking white people better vote him out of office or we're all dead, and we're being super serial this time." That and the bullshit ending for the Heiman arc. I was half expecting him to try and shoot her while everyone was distracted and kill Kenny on accident, but he didn't even get that cameo. Overall, this season was a large improvement from last for sure, I'd say it's about on par with some of the weaker later teen seasons. Just, for the love of god, actually drop the Trump stuff and do shit like Awesome-O vs Christmas Critters next season.

I always liked Mr. Garrison scenes because there was always a distinction between Trump and Garrison. There were great similarities but Garrison always felt in character.

Thinking about it, there was really no explanation as to why Garrison was wandering South Park. It just felt like an excuse to use the same Trump jokes that everyone else has done. Even the IT parody felt pointless. All they did with it was play some 80s music.

What was even the point of this season? Of last season? Did they really think politically-themed jokes were still funny after Season 20? It just makes your shit dated and severely limits the kind of content you can explore. The Alexa and Hummels were so refreshing because it was largely just the boys being boys, or just every day shit that wasn't tied up with presidential or relationship drama. Heidi's character went all over the fucking place. She went from being a victim, to a victimizer, and then back to her "original self" after a trip through the woods. Even the premise for the episode was a reference to IT/Stranger Things and rather than getting an interesting parody we just got a bunch of backk and forth between the adults and Heiman because "look at all these loose ends we need to tie up!" Kenny disappeared about half way into the season and was replaced with Creek.

What a fucking mess. A story arch shouldn't last any more than three episodes. Maybe they'll finally see that in S22.

I know this is clearly bait, but eh, I like using bait images. The fish is cute.

My biggest problem was that Kyle's story was pretty much dropped. He barely takes any responsibility for his role in the war or his attack on Terrance & Phillip. It doesn't impact his relationships with anyone aside from Ike, who only complains about him acting like a victim. You'd think that something that was built up like that would have more of an impact, especially for someone like Kyle.

And Heiman ending. It was becoming more and more volatile, so I was expecting more to come out of it. Heidi just had a realization and broke up with him. No big fights, an the only big scene was Cartman threatening to kill himself. Again.

All the energy from the build-up was gone from the pay-off. It was a very anti-climactic way to end the season.

Well I did laugh, and not at the Trump jokes. At others like Randy falling, the whole ' yeah I saw It on theatres' made me chuckle though it's just a simple word play. The PCP and Strong Woman taking Butters to a 'special student' date. Ike riding a newfoundland dog and tracking down Garrison. The only Trump joke I liked was the fox trap one. While not funny I do appreciate someone finally saying that 80's music was full of shit and we only remember the good ones.

The whole The Whites thing was pretty cringy and same with the adults vomiting at the thought of having sex with a co-worker. Again, not great just...eh. There's plenty of shitter South Park episodes.

It was dumb. In a better episode I might have found it detracted from the actual humour. In this episode it was a break from references with no humour and shit humour. The only other really good part was when they used the title IT as the word 'it' in a normal sentence and then add Stranger things after establishing the references and dropping the conversation.

I remember watching the Wisecrack podcast for the last Super Hard PCness episode and one of the people in the round table just didn't like the episode strictly due to her feminist agenda. Everyone disagreed but they had a hard time saying it despite the fact that the lady had nothing backing up her viewpoints beyond 'feeling' and shit.

Also it was their last week and they're old now. They should really do one episode every two weeks cause it seems they get better results that way now.

No matter the theory, we probably will never know and Matt and Trey would never push blame onto others when they know they fucked up. I look forward to the commentary on this though, I enjoyed the majority of this season but when they remark about the episodes I don't like it helps me understand the thought process.

Take the episode 'Pinewood Derby', they were planning a two parter and had a completely different plot progression however they realized half-way through that a zombie Simpsons episode did it. As a result, the episode was salvaged into what it came to be and I find that very interesting from a creative perspective.

Anyways, they still knock it out of the park enough for me to enjoy each season... maybe not for 17.

But imo the direction of their relationship being more serious is not doing it for me. It might do for the tumblr audience that gushes about how perfect they are for each other and all that crap, but for me it just bores me. It's simply not fun. Imo their relationship should have stayed in the ambiguous state it was after TxC, you could get easier jokes out of that.

The guy vetoed 71 bills passed by Montana's Republican legislature and still got re-elected in a solidly red state Hillary lost by 21 points. He was actually one of the candidates Democratic strategists picked out as a potential candidate for 2016 but was considered to be too new and inexperienced. This obviously won't be the case with another term as state governor.

I'm getting pretty tired of the kennyfags whining.
Why don't they use him anymore? Simple, Trey comes up with a plot and then figures out which character would fit better. Because both Randy and Cartman can easily do anything they are overused, Randy is known for getting too much into a new thing/trend everyday while Cartman will do anything if it benefits him. Does the plot require for a character to be unaware of what they are doing? Butters. Is it something about good bad sides? Kyle and Cartman. Does it involve someone getting their ego inflated or a simple layman? It goes to Stan.
Kenny has that he is poor and comes from a white trash family, unless it relates to that he rarely will get an episode.
Tweek and Craig got focus this season because Trey attempted (sorta accomplished sorta failed) to tackle the theme of relationships. They were there to contrast Heidi and Cartman, they definetly didn't push Kenny away last season.
I don't know Trey or have I read his mind, and I assume he does come up with ideas like 'Wouldn't it be funny if Butters did x?' or 'Stan got involved in Y?' but the series is so dependant on week to week current events, it's likely one has to come up with the promp first and thing think about the characters.

so at lvl 4 each rat has 40 health and 38 damage

with 4 rats each getting in at least one hit thats 152 damage, one dies and then another wave of damage from them comes in for 114 damage, then again for 76 and then the last 38

and thats on a fast attacking character, most assassins die only killing one rat off, not to mention that if you place rats correctly you can actually fuck up the enemy cards attack animation so they keep switching between rat to attack and they dont even end up hitting one

its also pretty easy to cheese rats + regen for a peg if the enemy new kid thinks he can get away with just using the zap to kill them all

You dipshit, think of how funny it would have been if at the very end when cartman is "faking" it, he actually shoots, Heidi looks horrifed and screams and it immediately cuts to credits. That's the carpet pull South Park was know for back in the day.
And hell, since their so gun-ho about these season long plots, a new one writes itself. Cartman is dead, so he's in hell which we've already established means less than jack. Have next season be him either trying to take over hell or trying to come back to life.
Honestly I was expecting the Trump shit and I dont even care at the point but this is the third season finale that has been a disappointing mess of loose ends
