There's a big difference between being harsh with a stupid little shit kid to straighten them out in the long run, and socially ostracizing somebody their entire life for a benign physical glitch that they were born with and had no control over. Rudolph never provoked anybody yet he was shat on constantly, even by fucking Santa Claus. It's a wonder he was never outraged on behalf of Hermey for how he was treated- if not himself, or even the Misfit Toys that were all just exiled and left for dead essentially for being sentient factory defects.

The North Pole, as a society, got away with a whole lot of shit that any other more self-aware special would've called out for being wrong. What was even the moral supposed to be with this callous narrative? Be true to yourself, as long as you're inherently useful and complacent with the assholes that talked shit to your face? That message really doesn't hold up.

The old days was stupid as fuck and god damn Rudolph actually talks more on how everyone sees him as a tool rather than a individual in his second film when I was younger.

I was hyped as shit for the sequel as a kid, especially after that 2d film from the 90s that had no relation to the original special. Too bad the CGI was bad then and looks deranged now.

At least the 2d movie gave us John Goodman Santa.
