New heroes are already incredibly rare anyway, white or not. Marvel and DC are all about familiar brands and character legacies.
Literally the only thing Marvel did wrong was try to fuck with the core moviefag characters. If they had same old Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man and Captain America, then no one would give a shit if the other Avengers were Asian Hulk, Muslim Ms. Marvel and gril Hawkeye, (at least no one who wasn't a complete spastic retard), just like no one cared that Wally and Kyle were legacies so long as they had muh Batman and muh Superman, and how fans welcomed black Mr. Terrific and gril Star-Spangled Kid so long as they had muh Jay/Alan/Ted.
Or maybe it's just because the overwhelming majority of modern Marvel fans are brainless moviefags and gamers while DC fans back then were actually fans of comics.
