Or even food associated with absent groups.
The next town over from me a few Serbs run a successful Mexican restaurant.
But go to the cultural centers and you find everything people ever saw on travels replicated for the home audience.
Go to Berlin and you will find Vietnamese summer rolls or Thai "stir fried" ice cream rolls along the omnipresent döner kebabs (experiments into fabricating potato kebabs are actually happening) or currywurst.
But aside from restaurants the German market for cook books in particular is reaching to find new ideas from across the globe and I actually have one that does cover empanadas among dozens of other foreign delicacies.
This Saturday I will be cooking a tom kha gai and a Capetown curry for guests.
So the question might be rather, what don't the gringos eat?
