>>95872689I think he is right in a general sense in that making such absolute changes to human nature like that is a terrible idea.
Take drugs and alcohol, for instance. They are not inherently evil in and of themselves, they are dangerous because they are an easy refuge for people to escape from their problems and not deal with them.
If you remove drugs and alcohol, suicide rates WILL go up dramatically. Also,a bunch of drugs that are used recreationally started off as being medical tools, so what happens to medicine? Do I have to suffer through surgery, perfectly awake and aware, because Iron Man made painkillers no longer exist so druggies can't abuse them? Or did he just change everyone's minds so we don't want to feel good/can't be addicted by things?
If you remove War, then what happens? That means revolution is impossible, so does that mean every shitty regime is going to stay in power FOREVER and no one can stop them? What happens when we get invaded by aliens again? Are we just totally defenseless?
Wanting to use the gauntlet to do some good is fine, but you have to really put the front time in on figuring out what your changes are actually going to DO and how. Otherwise you are going to get what you asked for and make everything worse in ways you never imagined.
