>>95820695>The point is she trusts Marco implicitly because he's someone who gives her support despite everything she doesThis isn't wrong to say, but the distinction still needs to be made that while Marco will always be there for her, he doesn't support or encourage everything single thing she does. He's not an enabler (to a fault).
Marco will tell Star when she's NOT doing the right thing or when things have gotten out hand, and she takes his input seriously, more than when anyone else tells her she's wrong. She has an easier time recognizing and correcting her mistakes when he's around because she knows that he won't storm out on her or belittle her, but instead always help pick her up and set her back on the right path.
She got so upset with him after the Blood Moon Ball, and the incident with the Banagic Wand, and their misadventure in the Sandwich Dimension, and that time he let her go when he was teaching her how to ride a bike, not because he was correcting her or telling her what to do, but because those were rare times where she realized he didn't have her back, when he didn't trust her like she trusted him.
When he tells her "Star, this is crazy" or "Star, this is too much, we have to just tell your parents", she will always at least hear him out.
It seems unreasonable to keep expecting unconditional trust and support from anyone else when you'll inevitably disappoint their trust and even hurt them time and again, but that's just how love is.
