He has no chemistry with chubby girl and black guy, and keeps trying to force them into every skit instead of letting them go.
And he clearly has no love for this like other similar reviewers do. He obviously resents the Nostalgia Critic character, and only does it because he's trapped. You can tell he wanted to be a film maker, but had zero talent for it as his completely unfunny sketches shoved into every review attest to.

My guess, since cartoons are way more fantastic, everything is possible, they can sperg out more since everything is possible. And since they mostly have only that fandom, they tend to see themselves as authority and most will just be obnoxious than normal. Its like scientist that gets superior attitude, sport fans going full bimbo chad or artist fans that gets snoobish. No other opinion allowed.

Granted Scary Godmother has a more niche fanbase but's a pretty dedicated one. And honestly how fucking dare he, Scary Godmother is pure, schlocky, Halloweeny fun and that's all it needs to be. It shouldn't even need to be reviewed or analyzed. It's just too simple for that.

It's not life changing by any means but it's not suppose to be. It's just pure Halloweeny fun, it's a lot like A Garfield Halloween and other Halloween specials at the time. So if you like those you might like the two specials.

Nobody here actually watches NC. They just make memes out of him because of Demo Reel and the godawful skits

Been watching since the first year and never stopped. He's been through some rough as shit patches and the skits are still cringe but he's picked up in the past year. Pretty much all his reviews are just okay rather than cringe

Actually, I watched the video just now, interested whether he had changed at all and it was actually very much back to form. I'm too old for his videos at this point, but I did enjoy his stuff back then and I probably would have enjoyed this, too. No cringy, dumb skits, no drawn out unfunny bits that go on forever. Sorry to burst your bubble, but this isn't technically one of the main reviews. After the show was revived, one week is for a "high" production review with skits and shit, and the next week is either an editorial, a short countdown, or a smaller classic-style review like this one. Last week's review was a Green Lantern 2011 one with skits attempting to make fun of cringy Deadpool cosplayers, but it just ended up being cringy itself.

He's not even a good critic, all he does is recount the plot of a movie and react to plot elements of it, it's not discussing what worked and what didn't, just the most juvenile style of reviewing.

Also, he can't call anyone's movies bad when he was responsible for those embarrassing nostalgia critic aniversary movies where he played grab-ass with his online buddies instead of actually making a good film. You would think with how much he pretends to know about movies he would have some ideas to know how to make one, but I guess it just didn't pan out.

I unironically LOVE the Scary Godmother specials and it's not just for nostalgia. All the characters (mostly the monsters and Hannah) are sweet and memorable, legitimately good jokes and lines throughout the whole thing and it's just really fucking cozy, it was MADE to watch on Halloween while sipping hot coco in your pumpkin slippers.

I love these specials for the same reasons I love Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure, it's flawed but their really sweet and wacky and I just can't help but love them to death.

RebelTaxi and MarsReviews are great for this. Also, Saberspark is pretty decent for cartoon history, even though some people on /co/ seem to dislike him.

If you didn't watch them in the window of 2007 to 2010 there's really no point. At the time he was passable free entertainment and youtube personalities and pop culture critique hadn't reached a point of saturation yet, there was also a lot of 90's nostalgia floating around that he was able to capitalize on because no self respecting film critic wanted to review direct to video movies from the Clinton years. Now all of his best jokes and observations have been spammed all over the internet and there are millions of other reviewers out there who aren't trying to carry their shitty friends.

I mean, I loved the concept of Board James. I wanted to see him, you know, review board games. But he basically used that series as a basis for some long-running narrative that told some stupid story about something that I didn't care about.

I disagree actually, I think the skits are the best part. I think Board James might have taken things a little overboard, but I still enjoy the skits over the reviews. Phelous is probably my favorite content creator ever associated with TGWTG, but I think he has fallen into a bit of a rut with shitty cartoon movies from the same 4 companies. A lot of his review videos start to blend together, but I do like when he breaks from them.

I love Phelous and despite what an earlier commenter said I like that hes doing the GoodTimes movies. I would've never seen them otherwise.

Even when he rarely did cartoons like with Aladdin and Dr Jekyl and Mr Hyde, those were always my favorites. Funny how he started with horror but found another niche

I really like Ellis' videos on the Transformers films because I think there's a special kind of comedy in trying to take deep analysis to what I consider to be bad movies.

I also like Phelous and Kyle Kallgren. KK did this really good analysis of Superman that I love and use whenever people call Superman boring or unrelatable
