It's all ingrained in their biology, billions of years of evolution flooding their brains with signals telling them how off putting and revolting beta males are, it manifests as a subconscious desire to either avoid, exploit, ridicule and by any means destroy these men, fictional or otherwise. Ironically, these mens attempt to be more pleasing to women only serve to dig themselves deeper.
Jerry is not only one of the most stereotypical beta male losers on Television, he now represents all the negative qualities about men women hate with a passion in one character. This is why he is shitted on so much, in the first few seasons he served as a punching bag who was obviously going to grow as a character, I can only promise now that we have female writers on the staff he's going to be the most flandarized, pathetic character in all of Television history.
