Look at Rolf, he was a mostly assimilated immigrant with some foreigner tendencies, but otherwise I didn't really notice that he was different when I originally watched the show, but as the show progressed, he became as assimilated as a gypsy
season 5 was pretty bad desu, idk why people don't mention it more often
