He's not their Big Name. Snyder is a bigger name, his books (for example, he pushed Superman Unchained into the 100+K each issue, not that they wouldn't have sold well, but you have to admittedly give him credit for some of that). WAR, FP-Paradox, TOA all didn't sell the way they should, which is why they abandoned it.
Still doesn't explain why Berlanti, for example, did Flashpoint (albeit in a far more stupid, far less actually based on the mini) on the DCW, or the other things which are getting Johns "story idea" by credits (and their accompanying cash payments).
Especially when, for example, they could be using Waids, Morrisons or even Gardner Fox ideas for the show.
