What is the fucking point of reading marvel/dc superhero comics?

Good guy defeats bad guy, bad guy returns, good guy defeats him again and again and again and it has been going on for more than half a fucking century for fuck's sake and it's always the same fucking characters. Has nobody ever thought, oh I dunno, to KILL a fucker? Or at least imprison him properly?

It boggles the mind. Why the fuck would you read this crap? You read a manga, bad guy is defeated (or killed) and that's it, he's gone, on to the next one. You actually feel like it's getting somewhere and that the hero actually prevents the villain from commiting more crimes and murders.
