Hey, /co/, I realize after watching TLoK for the first time that the Equalists have a point. Allow me to explain...
1. No non-benders serve on the Republic City council.
2. Though there are some exceptions, Sato, Cabbage guy, most non-genders live in the slums.
3. Only benders (earth/metal) may serve as police officers. There are several cases of abuse, too.
4. The government subsidies the lavish living of Airbenders on Air Temple Island.
5. Non-benders only means of advancement is marrying benders.
6. Almost all high profile private occupations are made up entirely of benders.
What does /co/ think?
