>>94563472When season 2 was announced, I was stoked. Could Disney finally be giving the show a chance? With the overarching plot I was excited the show might garner some more fanfare.
It actually took me a while to warm up to the over arching plot, mainly because it sort of seeped into most of the episodes and I thought that meant we'd get standalones that were less good. Good god, was I wrong. The episodes got even better, and some, like The Fremergency Contact, The Wanders, and The Bot blew me away. Dominator was kind of hit and miss, I thought whenever she took off her suit to fangirl at herself it was kind of annoying, but in action as a villain she worked alright. Season 2 was a huge step up in quality from season 1, which I'd already loved, and I was enjoying the hell out of it.
Then the news finally came out about the show's cancellation. Initially I was bummed out but rationalised that there were more episodes to come and was okay with it. Then, more things about it were coming out. The rejected S3 pitch and the plans they had for it (like Monkeyboy) hurt to hear. But the thing that really pissed me off was hearing that it was dead from the moment S2 premiered. The fact that Disney didn't even want to give the show a fucking chance hurt. The fact that it was kicked to a different channel, kicked from 2.3 million viewers to .2 million viewers, and treated like shit HURT. Knowing that any chance of it's success was killed pretty much right after the brief month where I got into the show, HURT. And especially, ESPECIALLY, the fact that the show went unnoticed by everyone until "I'm the bad guy", when it was already too late, HURT.
It's funny. Before the show happened I thought Disney Channel was absolute trash. When Wander came out I thought they were getting good again, since Gravity Falls and Star Vs were also rolling out at the time. But seeing how they prioritised the same shitty teen sitcoms over their animation made me hate them more than ever.
