>>94346019My core hope right now is they establish the iconic Lotor/Allura relationship. Childhood friends. He is deeply in love with her. She doesn't want anything to do with him. Yet Lotor's whole scheme and his reasons to be evil are based on one emotion;
Love.
Lotor has always been an iconic character to point to when you think about the true power of love. He survived all the horrors his father put him through why? Because the love of his mother and the brief tender care at the hands of Allura was enough to give him a reason to climb back up the cliff every time Zarkon threw him off it like a repetitive lion.
His love may be dark, obsessive, and dangerous, but none-the-less it is love. And its a desire to possess. Because for all his harem, for all the ladies he can have, there is still only one woman he truly desires. Allura.
The dynamic between Lotor, Keith, and Allura was amazing and I hope its kept. Lotor is intelligent, suave, charming, and devilish. Yet he is still cruel, evil, and dangerous because of all the molding his father put into him from a young age.
Growing up fighting in gladiatorial pits will do that to you.
I just hope the new Lotor keeps some aspects of that. A very redeemable and empathizable villain who just wants to be loved. But has come to far to turn back and whose own ambitions and desire for power have sparked in him a predatory monster who knows how to use his fathers brutalities as well as other, more daring and intelligence talents.
Please be amazing, Lotor. PLEASE BE AMAZING!
