I never thought much of it until Trump became a presidential campaigner and the image of Mordecai punching Buckner started being spammed on every site I went to (except this one mostly).

South Park was never that great but jesus fucking christ, everyone needs to take note that that's why you shouldn't make political humor very noticeable. That was the season where I realized I was hanging onto a show that didn't deserve it, I blame myself because I was the one who didn't notice its shitty path sooner.
In the same way, I'm catching myself quicker with Bojack Horseman, after S3 I'm thinking about not hanging on to it anymore, they really went in a new direction and brought dumb shit politics into the forefront, and the writers are saying if they get a S5 there's room for Trump riffs. That's enough of an early warning that their humor juices are dying down, which says a lot since it wasn't that high anyway.
