>>94122864>The way I see it, Trump got elected for two big reasons. First, Hillary was just a weak candidate who utterly failed to energize her base. As I recall, Democrats had lower voter turn out compared to Obama's elections. Second, Trump targeted blue collar workers who'd felt disenfranchised by economic developments and ignored by the left. A common notion I've heard is "at least he bothered to lie to us"you're not wrong there. in my opinion it was a perfect storm. you could pick any variable and say that was the cause because any variable would have been likely big enough to make a difference.
but the fact that alex jones finally got his perfect candidate cannot be overlooked.
of all the republicans, the one who got elected was the one who has personal phone calls with alex jones, championed the unfounded, racist idea that obama's citizenship was a conspiracy, and shamelessly stoked racial tensions about how evil non white and non christian immigrants are.
i mean, everything in his playbook is something hitler did.
calls to return the fatherland to greatness once lost?
check.
endlessly build on racial tensions?
check.
decry any and all opposing media as shameless propaganda?
check.
even everything you said about a disenfranchised population so tired of the status quo that they'd let anyone try something new.
that's exactly how hitler got into power, nazis were never a majority in the country.
