It's funny how static they all are, but it would be nice if, I dunno, we say Gaz be nice a little more often or GIR show some depth. I don't mean in some kind of "appease the network" kind of forced positivity, and I'm not saying he should sacrifice the tone or make there be a regularly occuring "awww" moment, like a basic cable sitcom.
Still, his obsession with making everything dark just gets kind of old after a while. If you use too much edge then it eventually gets dull, and there's so much unused dynamic between the characters beyond how insufferable everyone finds each other.
I dunno, I guess I just mean that he's allowed to have some semblance of positivity to the show without selling out to the man. Sometimes it feels a little self conscious, like he's worried that he has to keep up his appearance or else people will accuse him of being soft.
