I also enjoyed that every villain also had a family, a nephew, a son who was learning from their parents.
What I didn't like was that they introduced that anti-hero thing with Manny as the main catch of the show and didn't do anything real with it.
Manny was still being beaten for doing the wrong things rather than getting off scott free and playing up on the pros of being an opportunistic anti-hero.
It probably had to do with the fact the episodes were 10 minutes long each, meaning comedy-action cartoon so no serious storytelling allowed.
Yet they did allow 2 episodes each 20 minutes long and they actually had an adventure action plot going on instead of the usual comedy shtick.
I think the show would have improved greatly if they allowed the 26x22 format, but it probably would cost their writing staff too much.
