HS used to be HUGE. Like, insanely huge. The fanbase was loyal, dedicated, and boundlessly gullible; any competent person could have done just about anything with what Homestuck had, it was that powerful.
But through a perfect conflation of scams, hiatuses, setbacks, more hiatuses, squandered money and time, another fucking hiatus, and creator apathy, the fanbase that raised nearly three million dollars on kickstarter has all but dried up.
It's almost admirable how completely Hussie destroyed his own creation. How he took such infinite promise and possibility and drove it into the ground.
I'm glad I was around to witness the whole thing. It's the kind of trainwreck that only comes around once every few decades.
