>>93024621Often violently, sometimes not so. Off the top of my head I can remember
>Some cyclops kid who you see alive then shortly afterwards see his dismembered body and people experimenting on his head>Some kid, whose arms have been chopped off and eaten, getting his life sucked out off screen (though you see his shrivelled corpse) by the main character>Kids running through a war zone and a bunch of them getting shot, you see them falling midrun and see the blood spraying out of their bodies>A bunch of children chained to a wall who can't remember some traumatic event so they're all going to be killed for the purpose of interrogating their ghosts>Kids starving to death in a concentration camp and fighting each other over a single noodleThen there's a whole bunch of people who aren't kids getting killed left and right and begging for their lives and shit. If I recall correctly, the grandparents or parents of the girl who are Chinese who lived through WW2 and told her about all the horrific shit they saw, so she wanted to capture that feeling in a comic, but it honestly doesn't make for great reading.
Monstress is a real mixed bag. On the one hand the setting has some interesting aspects, the art is fucking gorgeous and the girls are super fappable. On the other hand, the setting also contains heavy elements of fursecution and >tfw enlightened by own intelligence, the main character is a bland 'too cool for emotions' deal who's good at everything and is the only member of her special who looks human when the rest are all weird animal people, and one of the few interesting aspects of the series (weird giant eldritch ghost monsters that can be seen but don't interact with much) are ruined pretty early in by making them angry angsty humans.
