>>92767030>cry over spilled milk.Crying Breakfast Friends has an episode where they literally make fun of this. Amythyst asks, "who would want to watch a cartoon where everyone's crying all the time?"
The answer's clearly us.
>>92767430Yeah, it's a bit depressing to see how many people have internalized an (almost) unattainable view of what it means to "be a man".
Like, how many people do you think look at their pale, flabby bodies in the mirror and curse their existence because they think that they've failed as men? Or how many get /fit/, but despite their progress still feel small and weak?
There's a kind of self-flagellation and shaming that's promoted through this site that strikes me as a bit unhealthy.
Crying is normal human behaviour, not just relegated to the deaths of family or pets, and I can't imagine how terrible it must feel to want to cry but stop yourself because "men don't cry", or to start crying and hate yourself because you think it makes you worth less.
Steven Universe shouldn't be judged based on the amount of crying that happens, though it happens a lot. It should be judged by the quality of its writing.
Which is shit.
