He only gets $800 from Patreon. Most of his money comes from WebToon with the occasional merch sale. There's literally no reason why he can't start doing both, his comics don't take very long to do.
This weird implication that he's "trapped" otherwise he'll go broke overnight is fucking absurd. He isn't supporting a wife and three kids or paying off a mortgage, if there were ever a time for him to switch gears, it would be now.
As it stands, HE isn't the one who is popular, his comics are. Most of his readers don't even know who drew them, they just see them pop up on their Facebook feed. But if he actually decided to do, you know, a story or an actual comic, he would build real fans, not just rebloggers.
