I know. Maybe I'm alone here but the Cars franchise is literally the bottom of the barrel when it comes to the Disney/Pixar movies. I wish they rather an Incredibles 2, so much universe to expand there.

Cars merch has always sold gangbusters while simultaneously clogging shelves just because there's so much of it. Kids love toy cars, so I guess kids love toy cars with characters attached to them even more. It's easy to do because all you have to do is sell a million different variants of Lightning McQueen.

I know Cars sells toys, just go outside and see the sheer amount of merchandise there is literally everywhere.
Thinking Disney would open an adult branch is wishful thinking, but honestly they have better franchises to exploit, it doesn't need to be a bloodbath left and right or extremely deep characters to be, let's say, mature-friendly. Just look at Wall-E, The Incredibles and to a lesser extend, Zootopia.
