Any general thoughts on the cartoon landscape?
Here is mine.
The beginning of the decade started out with a lot of promise for CN and we thought that would ride into the sunset forever, unfortunately, these hopes were quickly dashed. After thoroughly milking it’s new properties CN wanted to keep this streak going by trying to recapture the magic of the early 2000s by remaking the cartoons from that era while making sterilizing them and taking away any charm they had in the first place so they could reach the broadest audience.
Unfortunately we’re stuck with them as our primary source of western animation because Disney has caught a case of the sitcoms and doesn’t care about animation (Seriously why did fucking Disney of all companies moved their animation to a secondary channel that no one owns?) and the washed out shell of Nickelodeon has also come down with the disease and only gives a shit about animation if it involves beating the paste that was once the corpse of Spongebob.
TL;DR
Nostalgia is ruining the western animation industry.
