>>92591931>never kills another human for the rest of the seasonThis bugs me. They never did anything with regards to the killing thing. 3 episodes of Nuclear Jack and then Ashi got forced in.
The others I can excuse.
>let's spend the episode looking for it before saying lol no he suddenly knows he needs to go on a vision quest for it to magically appearFits, because he got his hope restored and decided to actually look for the sword. When it wasn't there the realisation dawned and metaphorical losing hope sword bollocks. It makes sense basically, he said he realised the sword left him and he got his hope back so the sword came back.
>nah let's spend an episode and a half on an alien prison ship to focus on le awkward pauses and cutesy romance and then randomly wander into akuI genuinely think this episode was laughably bad. It was seriously terrible. But that said, I don't have a huge issue with it in the larger context because an episode showing Jack and Ashi travelling to Aku's lair or at least some part of the Journey was surely needed.
>spend 30% of the episode showing people walking up to tv's and the scotsman listing all his daughtersYeah this was annoying, every episode started off slow though so the same could be said for quite a few of them.
>okay jack did it! he defeated aku and is in the past!Mostly caused by the pacing issues leading to no proper closure and instead just one scene hurrying on to the next.
I don't feel like you can say the show didn't know what to do because Genndy clearly had a 10 episode plan and it's not like he was writing it on the fly. Just the way he went about it in general could have been done better. Honestly I'm more bothered by how generic some of the stuff he wrote was, and sort of contrived.
>Jack just gives up the sword immediately to Aku, abandoning his entire life goal >could have just said "I won't fight Ashi">Entire Episode 8>I LOVE YOU ASHIIIIII>All vs 1 big battle>muh bittersweet ending
