>>92490983Green was the original series. Starts serious although with some goofy cartoony humor too, then gets lighter in the 2nd half. It has a Lupin who often kills and does some other scumbag stuff. Zenigata attempts to outright kill Lupin several times.
The 2nd series featured a Red Jacket. It's a direct sequel to the original going from the first episode, but most episodes are much lighter (although there are some darker ones too) and Lupin sometimes is portrayed as an outright joke. Zenigata never attempts to kill Lupin, and Lupin is generally a noble thief that never takes lives. Although there are a few episodes focused on him plotting the death of assassins or even a cop that attempted to kill him - those are generally personal grudges though, rather than killing even random grunts like in the original.
Pink was the third series. It has a very different art style from the others (Lupin starts with an afro and a double chin) and that art style also changes during the show itself becoming much more cartoony and off model in later episodes. It's similar to Red Jacket, although Lupin is generally portrayed as more competent, with many episodes involving him taking down rebellions or governments with just his little party. The goofier episodes go goofier than Red Jacket, but it has serious episodes that go darker than anything in Red Jacket though, including Goemon decapitating someone and tons of blood. Zenigata is often sidelined, with some episodes basically just giving him an obligatory cameo.
Blue Jacket is the recent series. It has a main plotline, unlike the previous ones, although also many standalone episodes. Zenigata doesn't appear in every episode and is portrayed as a more serious rival to Lupin. It also adds two new recurring characters Nix, a married Bond with calculation powers, and Rebecca, a rich thrill seeker.
