Like, last episode I was thinking "Oh, he meditates and gets rid of his dark side. This is like Naruto. Except when Naruto did it, he and his dark side had a fight that wouldn't end until Naruto realised that you can't fight who you are deep down, and when Jack did it, he... made a monk some tea, and the monk said he was off balance, and then completely unrelatedly Jack decided he doesn't want to be angry anymore".
And now we have "Oh, a main character is poisoned. This is like Naruto. Except when Naruto did it, he drained the poison himself by stabbing his own wound and it was to show that Naruto puts his mission above his own comfort and well-being, and when Jack did it, it was OH MAN LET'S STOP THIS SHOW TO ADD IN SOME FANSERVICE!"
