I'm too depraved to enjoy a real sexual relationship or relationship at all so I have to find arousal in fiction. The reason I stick to mostly /co/ and /v/ material is because I find most anime too annoying and there is very little decently written /tv/ fiction.

Because this was before I found sites like ReadComicsOnline and the only comics I can find in stores where I live that are of interest to me nowadays are Archie Sonic.
There's also that once in a blue moon where somebody comes up with an interesting concept/something that isn't explored in a comic. But those are, again, rare.
Also it's easier to put on my Paperwhite Kindle.

I feel the same way about fanfics. There's already so many of them and the same stories about the same characters have been written. I'm not really a big writer, but if I was I'd like to write new and fresh stories.

As far as the fapfics aspect goes, to each their own I guess. I'm too lazy to go to those lengths just to bust a nut.
