I didn't want Scarecrow nor do I want Rorschach either. I view Constantine as a similarly idiotic choice for a character spot. Out of the roster, I'd cut Joker, Scarecrow, and Bane, at this point, and replace with 3 more diverse choices which expand not only the Injustice universe, but the exposure people get to DC properties. If Constantine gets in, that's fine, another DC character, but don't try adapting a guy who doesn't ever fight, to a fighting game; it'll just cause casuals to believe Constantine is more like the movie portrayal than the Vertigo titles.

But then again, in the latest animated flick and Justice League Action cartoon, he's exactly that way, so I guess who really cares anymore right?

We know The Joker will never not be in a game; that's the problem. I think, most everyone at this point, is just a little burnt out on The Joker. He's just been in so much media lately that his charm isn't what it used to be. And I'm not saying bring back the whole cast from Injustice 1, even though I wouldn't mind seeing a few reworked characters appear, I'm just saying expand upon the Injustice universe with characters most wouldn't expect, but since it appears we're getting the cast from Alex Ross's Justice posters, I fully expect Metamorpho, Toyman, and others to appear as DLC.

If the characters aren't somewhat in line with how they are depicted in the comics, then it nullifies the point of using the properties in the first place. At that point, it may as well be an original IP.

Constantine is poor choice because he rarely engages in full frontal assaults with his enemies which is whole point of fighting games. Even in the Injustice continuity his motivations are clear and he achieved his goal. He has no reason to get involved in the war between Superman and Batman and most likely doesn't care about what's happening with Brainiac or Darksied.

Constantine's not a fighter, simple as that. He doesn't have any Doctor Strange magic blasts, nor does he have a wand. I don't think you could make him a fighter without making significant, debatable changes to him as a character.

Yeah but Adam is more about lightning which I realize isn't a huge distinction but it leads to major differences in how they would approach designing a character. Adam is more of a powerhouse with the lightning accentuating his other powers while what I want is a much speedier fighter who is entirely focused around various electrical abilities which is what I think those others would end up being.

Gear is stat boosts, but I can't remember if the variations are tied to gear or not. I know gear can change traits and variations on special moves do exist.
If you're talking about Volnutt in particular, then it varies but the left hand parts are the only ones that affect his attacks. The other armor pieces are either for stats or new abilities.

I'm not denying it at all. I hate Constantine and seeing him would be a major strike against the game. Same with Red Hood. Both are characters who've been so overexposed and flanderized in recent years that they veer into parody more than anything.

The entire point is to talk about what the realistic chances of them being in are. People wanted Swamp Thing, he got in. Ivyfags wanted their waifu and she got in. Normies have been screaming for Red Hood and Constantine throughout development so it's a very good chance they'll be getting in too.

I just want to prepare myself now so it doesn't piss me off too much when it happens.

Reversing controls would be stupid from a design standpoint. You'd have to make him stronger to compensate and then someone will main him and become used to the controls and the character will be potentially broken. If he just HAD reverse controls and nothing to compensate, it would be an unnecessary weakness.

I'd be happy with different voice, intro and lines, and MAYBE a new super animation (but that's probably asking way too much)

Maybe. If they left Ares on the cutting room floor and are open to bringing back more Gods Among Us characters, I'd say he's the most likely of any of them to be added. Especially due to WW synergy.

To be fair, they made him work in a way that's conducive to the character because the "Scarecrow" you're fighting isn't even real. Other noncombatants aren't so lucky to have a canon rationalization to hand-wave away the fact that they're fighting superhumans.

On Capcom titles, I usually use grapplers and playing as Bane was so much fun in the first game. Especially once you found out that venom recharged while you or your opponent was knocked out.

I think the moves have different visual effects and that's about it. The only example I've seen is Bane's backbreaker command grab being replaced by a chokeslam. Damage was the same and there was no visible difference in executing the attack (Frame distance or whatever).

Moves definitely have much larger effect than mere visuals. They can be entirely matchup altering. Another of Bane's alternatives, for instance, makes his trait deliver a signficantly larger amount of damage in exchange for getting rid of armor properties.

However, based on footage from the Watchtower streams, I believe that abilities are disabled along with gear when you enable competitive mode. It makes sense - there's no way the game's tournament balance was built to accommodate every potential moveset. This lets them go crazy with the abilities while still striving for a competitively sound title.

In terms of "Combatant Scarecrow" looks, I think this is probably one of the better outcomes in terms of appearance. How would you have done it? Not even trying to be cheeky, I'm interested in what people would want from Scarecrow in a fighting game. Man, /co/ will probably play sporadically during updates and DLC packs which will be peppered throughout the year. We'll likely have Injustice threads 3 months or so regularly. With a game like REV 2, you're going to wanna git gud. I play Faust so I'm obviously not interested in winning much.

That's not really the problem here. Super aside, his damage seems pretty appropriate given his role as a character with strong defensive options.

The real thing that has me worry for Firestorm is that he got max trait meter but clashing ran the entire thing out. Given how long it takes to charge (and there's nothing Firestorm can do to accelerate it, IIRC), that seems like a very potent countermeasure against one of the core aspects of his gameplan.
