>>91055826Early on as a fish out of water le randumb humor show about a naive magical princess girl from another dimension and her adventures with a levelheaded but awkward mexican karate enthusiast
After the middle of the first season two of the executive producers mysteriously disappear and the creator assumes full control of the show as lore, worldbuilding, and plot very slowly take center stage. The show becomes more focused on one of its strongest points the two main leads of the show: Star and Marco and their relationship and friendship.
Second season picks up on the fallout of the first season's finale. Becoming more story-oriented, developing both Star and Marco's characters and their relationship, developing the antagonists more, exploring more of the world of Star vs. instead of just one-off adventures/fillers (though they still have them and one of the worst episodes in season 2 are these), getting rid of unnecessary characters, slowly bringing in to the forefront other characters (some that were previously disliked and actually got better), and slowly phasing out of the highschool setting.
It's not actiony at all like Samurai Jack, and second season has less of it since Star and Marco doesn't fight monsters as much, but in season 2 the fights are well choreographed in my opinion.
It has a TON of shipping/relationship drama though especially in season 2 since it becomes a major plot point for the characters' development, so some people wouldn't like that.
