Alright, I've been doing some math, just to see how south Morbi's updaye schedule has gone, and by checking Poppy's archive, which thankfully omits the SORRY NO UPDATE strips, I found this:
>Start point: Poppy 5, page 24 - 04/10/2015
>Finnish point: Poppy 7, page 14 - 03/03/2017
>99 weeks between each
>100 strips between each
Surprisingly enough, the comic still manages to reach a weekly update average, but on the other hand, this also means that roughly for every update there's a hiatus.
(I took that starting point to avoid any confusion with Poppy 3)
Now, let's move it even further back:
>Poppy 4, page 1 - 03/19/2014
>154 weeks from the current page (Poppy 3 is counted as it was made during Poppy 5, because Morbi is weird like that)
>200 strips between each date
Alright, now we have 1.3 strips per week, meaning that yes, Morbi has become sloppier with his update schedule, but not as much as we'd had imagined, BUT let's make it even more interesting, by taking both starting pages as their own sample:
>Start point: Poppy 4, page 1 - 03/19/2014
>End point: Poppy 5, page 24 - 04/10/2015
>55 weeks between each
>111 pages
Almost exactly 2 updates per week for a whole year! Basically the ideal update schedule, making the decrease in updates very, very noticeable.
And just for shits and giggles, let's check the first two chapters, bach when everyone was exited about the comic, Morbi above all, as he genuinely seemed like a happy person while talking about it, or at least not as cynical:
>Poppy, Page 1 - 06/11/2013
>Poppy 2, page 30 - 02/07/2014
>34 weeks
>57 strips
1.7 strips per week, a little low compared to the earlier comparison, but miles above the last 2 years.
