Since LOGAN is confirmed capekino, might as well take a look at the road that led him there.

The X-MEN Series (2000-2016)

>In 1991, Bob Hoskins was approached for the role in movie written by Andrew Kevin Walker ("Se7en"), directed by Kathryn Bigelow ("The Hurt Locker") and produced by James Cameron. The project was scrapped when the production company, Carolco Pictures, went bankrupt and the rights were acquired by Fox.

>Fox approached Glenn Danzig for the role in 1993, but he declined due to scheduling conflicts.

>When Bryan Singer was selected to direct the movie in 1999, he approached Russell Crowe for the role, but Crowe declined over salary disputes and recommended his friend Hugh Jackman instead, but Fox passed over as Jackman only had musical theater performances to his name at the time.

>Edward Norton and Gary Sinise were Fox's top choices for the role, but both ultimately declined. Keannu Reeves, Kiefer Sutherland, Aaron Eckhart and Viggo Mortensen were also approached.

>Singer ultimately selected Dougray Scott, who was projected to be Hollywood's next breakout star after playing the main villain in MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 2. However, filming delays with the movie forced Scott to drop out at the last minute. Jackman was then given an opportunity to audition and impressed Singer and the producers enough to be cast in the role. He began shooting two weeks into filming.

>There were plans to pair Wolverine with Storm once the love triangle between him, Jean Grey and Cyclops was resolved, but the storyline was cut from both X-MEN: THE LAST STAND and X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.
