Because it's an all-new version of Ben 10 that has no prior storyline connections to the previous series, so they could change things up if they wanted to.

Speaking of which: I saw basically all of the original Ben 10, all of Alien Force, and some of Ultimate Alien. After that I fell way behind, and have seen exactly zero of Omniverse.

Should I re-start with the original and go through all three, or just watch Omniverse and then jump into the reboot?

I'm not like, obsessed with it (notice how I missed nearly two entire series), but I liked the original well enough.

My biggest complaint about Alien Force was they replaced Ben with a guy who was NAMED Ben Tennyson, but was very much not Ben Tennyson.
