>>89520074>there's a bigger stigma surrounding male homosexuality for whatever reason. That's because for women, being gay is empowering, they get to be away from all males which traditionally they needed. It allows them to avoid any idea of submission to men and break away from gender stereotypes which try to make them meek and soft.
It's positive.
For men, being gay is like accepting weakness. They are thought of as more feminine, which is weaker than masculine.
To be a masculine woman is empowering. To be a feminine man is weak.
We've accepted girl power for a while now, but the idea that a man might want to cry when he's sad makes him, in the general eye of the populace, a pussy. Women were already allowed to cry when sad so when a tough girl does it it's still OK. tough girls can be tough and sensitive, that just makes them girls, but strong.
In the same way people are more accepting of Gay men acting gay, than straight men acting gay. A gay man is seen as having a reason for weakness, like women, he need not be strong now that they are not a 'real man' so to speak.
A 'real man' is supposed to be strong and tough etc, so when he isn't it's weird.
On the simpler side of things, people are more disgusted by gays than lesbians. Men are more openly hostile to gays but find dykes hot.
