> I was trying to break the perception that modern progressivism inherently nobleHorseshoe theory and all that, every generation with the 'new thing' probably thinks of themselves as Noble. It'll go out of fashion those same goody two-shoes people championing it will be the 'regressive' ones fighting against change before they know it.
>Inb4 the year 2045 when advanced Gene Therapys allow flawless biological sex transition>Old Trannys and LBGT will be going NOT MUH because that sort of technology will invalidate the experiences/special snowflake trauma of having to go through painful Trans surgery.> I was mostly talking about all the middle ground people who ended up voting for Trump just to stick it to PC culture.I mean you're probably right, but I feel there's more to it than that.
Trump is basically Clickbait. Clinton ran an election like a traditional candidate, Trump won it like a Realty TV show as the underdog. PC Culture is fundamentally opposed to clickbait because that sort of arbitrary and unpredictable nature cannot be categorized or filtered quick enough to recognize whether it's 'PC' or not. It doesn't even matter if they're 'progressive'- liberals hate white feminists like Amy Schumer because she follows that unpredictable clickbait and won't fall in line. Along the original topic, It's fine to be an asshole with these people if your ideology is easily understood (See the circlejerk over libertarian George Carlin, despite being opposed to liberal ideology what's important is it's easy to understand and chart him), the real danger to them is with people like Trump who don't fit into the binary way of thinking.
Thus if something like a 'virtue signaling' comedian or Civil War/Confederacy depiction were allowed, it would only be tolerated if the ideals checked out along these simple political coordinates. Good and evil, black n white, clear sides. An easy narrative of least resistance.
