It was misleading, but that's because Willis sucks at pacing. If panels 1 and 2 were at the end of last strip, the message would be "Leslie doesn't know what she wants" or "Leslie doesn't know what she should do," which are both decent. As it is now, it's "WHAT'S THIS? IS LESLIE GOING TO BLACKMAIjust kidding."

The three red panels in this strip are all times Amber felt powerless: against a robber, against the fact of Ethan's homosexuality and against her own rage. I would say not directly, but a little bit in the sense of "Amazi-girl is strong and capable unlike Amber who is weak and violent. Amber gets angry at stupid things but Amazi-girl enforces justice and all her anger is righteous and pure!" yeah, the whole reason shinji has a better sync ratio is because he's more of a pushover and willing to just let his mother do everything. Asuka is too competitive to surpass him until EoE when she realizes just who Eva 02 is.

and Asuka never liked Shinji. She was briefly attracted to the 'ace pilot' persona he had begun to put forward during the action arc but she quickly lost interest when it became obvious Shini was too much of a coward to make a move.

Willis needed to have her hold onto the picture to build tension. It's obvious he's writing for the 24 hour update cycle and not trade.

First, this word already means something. It describes the loose skin on your elbow.

That's all true. However, Willis tried to be funny like this before. It was one of his more infamous Shortpacked strips - the one where the strawman complains about MLP ads in Transformers comic, and the punchline is that he's transphobic. The final panel has a newspaper that reads 'Dingus cuts off own weenus'. Several people with an actual knowledge of anatomy posted in the comments, legitimately confused as to why the character was flaying his own elbows, as it made no sense. Willis even addressed some of the commentators directly.

That's what grinds my gears. It's not the ignorance. It's the dedication to it.

Becky hasn't had any character development except early on when she was defined as a Lesbian. I think she's saying she a lesbian because it gives her attention in a sjw lgbt focused world. I wish the story with her and Joyce had real pay off, but it wont. Amber is a psychologically disturbed girl. She turns her rage and insecurities into a Superhero personality that she herself believes is a different person and separate from her. This has cause her closest relationships to fail and she lashes out in very violent ways. As much as she sees herself as her mother, she is her father.

Basically half of the characters are enjoyable because they're fappable and the other half were actually kinda fun, but Willis' poor writing skills fucking makes you dislike goddamn everyone and even likeable people become complete asshats when the narative calls for it.

When I first read the Becky arc I honestly thought it was going to turn out that Becky wasn't actually a lesbian but was trying so hard to get away from anything resembling her home life that she went to the opposite extreme and convinced herself she was a lesbian.

I don't know, "fake lesbian" seems far more like a Billie plot. I think it'd be better served for Becky to have repressed it for so long that when she finally starts expressing her sexuality she's dismayed at the normality of it and is deeply disappointed and almost resentful that it's not some huge, cathartic, life-affirming moment.

It's funny how one of Dina's main sticking points in her interactions with her peers is her dislike of being infantilized, but Willis himself is committed to infantilizing her and his fans are okay with that.

It's one thing to say that the character wouldn't want to immediately start having sex, but at some point you're going to need a concrete reason as to why they're not wanting to have sex in a committed relationship. I wouldn't put it past Willis to suddenly reveal Dina as asexual and ignore the relationship issues that would logically spring from that situation though.

Ethan's got a new project in his class (I have no clue what Ethan is taking), and has to work with a new character. They don't get along, and he goes to Jacob for advice after they work a bit in Ethan's room and he witnesses the person's attitude in person.

Ethan makes it his mission to impress this person and make them his friend, and decides to recruit Jacob and Raidah to go out with them to show how fun he is (because all Amber does is belittle him, and because Mike is Mike).

Doesn't really matter if it works out in the end, but the point is just getting more of Ethan's life and introducing a new character. Like I said I dunno Ethan's major, but I'd make it a drama class (or club) thing, and then you have the idea of wanting good chemistry driving Ethan's desire to get along.

But there is so much more than that. When I was getting my undergrad, I had a total of 5 different majors, played in a gaming club, had boyfriends, made friends, went to movies, writing books, playing MMOs, etc.

When I was in grad school, I had time for relationship drama, wanting to murder my roommates, teaching classes, tutoring, helping my boyfriend with his homework and writing, grading papers, and D&D 2-3 times a week.

I was in grad school for 2-and-a-half years and still had a full life. I had to turn down invitations sometimes, but I had so much I could do most of the time. If all she did was school, then she's just a very dull person with no social skills at all. The early stages of teaching college students and preparing to move forward in your career are huge, life-changing events. And the decisions that led Leslie to teaching are way more interesting rhan her sob story.

If he's being true to the analogy, it shouldn't work. Robin will say that it isn't true, "Leslie was just coming on to her, it happens all the time cause I'm super hot" and then everyone will agree and she'll win again. Also the religious folk will still vote for her cause her ticket still follows "their stances on abortion."

Instead, Leslie will kiss Robin, but tell her no puss puss unless she comes out. Robin will be so smitten that she'll go off message and admit she's bisexual saying it shouldn't be a big deal. I say "seems like" because I do think that the framing and composition of that second last panel is pretty shitty. Billie has her arm bent and is making a fist to physically intimidate Mary, but their positioning doesn't even make it apparent that Mary could see her. I think doing it the way they're positioned in panel 4 would've been better.

Or, the second to last panel could have a mostly off-panel Billie with just her fist blocking Mary. Mary has a recoiling posture, and the "Ahem" comes from off panel to the right.

I don't think so. I remember Leslie's mother being, if not on nice terms with her daughter, than at least stiff conversational terms. Like, she'd been highly disappointed in Leslie's homosexuality and still was, but she didn't ooze hatred. Or something to that effect.

I think it was later, as Willy got deeper and deeper into the SJW cult, that she became more and more demonized as just another bigot. The strip where Malaya tries to put her down for not liking her daughter's lesbianism springs to mind (in which Willy, perhaps unintentionally, once again gets us on the side of "the bad guy" by having Mom casually blow Malaya off with snark).

I really do feel sorry for Cerberus because, judging from what she's said about herself and the level of her paranoia and delusions, she's been through some shit.

I'm the guy who found that due to how Willis queues his strips early, it's possible to access them. I'm also the guy who wants to find a way in so that we can read all the strips ahead of time.

I feel like the only way to do it is to brute-force the URLs, though. I need to learn Python.

I've found it's possible to get an HTTP request code from a URL via Python (200, 403, 404, etc.). So if I can figure out how to plug that into a script, next comes brute-forcing URLs for the strips, as well as looping the program as it tests URLs.

Wordpress. He uses a custom theme called Comicspress. Or Comicpress. I forget.

Willis' buffer is set up two to three months in advance full of comics, all of which are accessible if you know the direct URL to the comic image. For example, tomorrow's strip (Jan. 1, 2017) is accessible through ".../comics/2017-01-01-gambit.png". This should apply to every comic in Willis' buffer, which is shown on the front page of DoA.com.
